Sültü Band had the privilege of playing at a very special wedding on Saturday, October 1. The unique venue of the nuptials was a historic early medieval church dating back to the 12th century, which had once belonged to the now extinct village of Gercse. The church occupies the middle of a clearing at the foot of Hármashatár hill in the undulating landscape of Budapest’s northeastern periphery.

Our folk band was invited to play at a grape harvest festival on the last day of September – this time to one taking place at a kindergarten in the Óbuda district of Budapest. On arrival, Sültü Band was greeted by a bevy of some 200 grinning, buzzing preschoolers.

With several hundred participants in attendance, the Roman Catholic Our Lady of the Stone (Kövi Szűz Mária) Church celebrated its Parish Day on June 5, 2010. Offering an exciting palette of family-oriented activities which included a traditional Moldavian barn dance, the event took place on the northernmost tip of Hajógyári-sziget, an island in the river Danube named for the shipyards it used to accommodate in the Budapest district of Óbuda.
